The app analytics company Wise App announced on the 17th that the monthly active users (MAU) of the Spotify app recorded 3.59 million in May 2025, reaching an all-time high.
Since the introduction of the free plan in October 2024, Spotify's user count has rapidly increased and has continued to grow steadily. As of last month, Spotify ranked third among domestic music streaming apps in terms of user count.
YouTube Music topped the ranking of music app users with 9.82 million users, followed by Melon with 6.54 million users, and Spotify with 3.59 million users. Next were GENIE MUSIC with 2.63 million users, FLO with 1.75 million users, SoundCloud with 1.18 million users, and VIBE with 840,000 users.
Since securing third place after surpassing FLO and GENIE MUSIC in October last year, Spotify has maintained this position to date.
This survey was conducted by Wise App and Retail, sampling Korean Android and iOS smartphone users.
