The Korea Display Industry Association announced on the 16th that Lee Seung-woo, former CEO of Korea Southern Power Company, has been appointed as the 7th executive vice president.
This executive vice president is an expert in the industry and energy sector, having entered public service through the 27th technical examination in 1992 and served as the director of the National Institute of Technology and Standards and the CEO of Korea Southern Power Company.
In particular, during his tenure as the director of the National Institute of Technology and Standards in 2019, he halved the certification period for the materials, parts, and equipment (소부장) sector, which contributed to enhancing the competitiveness of the domestic 소부장 industry, and during his time as CEO of Korea Southern Power Company, he played a role in building infrastructure to expand renewable energy supply in line with corporations' RE100 transition.
In his inaugural speech, this executive vice president noted, "I will listen more closely to the voices of member companies and ensure that their needs are backed by policy support, fulfilling the role of a bridge between the industry and the government."
