Kakao Entertainment and Kakao announced on the 15th that they will participate in the country's largest representative cultural festival for the deaf in line with the group's coexistence slogan, 'Closer, Kakao.'
Kakao Entertainment will participate as an official partner and sponsor for the '20th Seoul Sign Language Culture Festival with Kakao Entertainment and Kakao,' which will be held on the 14th on Yonsei Road in Sinchon, Seoul. The Sign Language Culture Festival is organized by the Seoul Deaf Association and is held annually to enhance social understanding of the deaf and to promote sign language and increase cultural accessibility.
Kakao Entertainment has supported a total of 159 million won worth of Kakao Page gift cards to the Seoul and Gyeonggi Deaf Associations and the Sign Language Culture Festival over the past four years, including 45 million won this year. They received a gratitude plaque from the Seoul Deaf Association in both 2023 and 2025.
This year's Sign Language Culture Festival will feature programs related to Kakao Entertainment. The 'Sign Language Webtoon Contest' will be held with the themes of deaf culture and improving sign language awareness, with winners selected through audience evaluations on the day. The 'Closer, Kakao Entertainment Sign Language Name Contest' will solicit official sign language expressions for the Kakao brand and award plaques and prizes to the representatives. Additionally, cultural performances such as sticker photo booths 'Closer Sign Language Cut,' sign language education and experience booths, pantomime, and sports dance will be provided.
