NHN Cloud announced on the 10th that it will supply cloud-native infrastructure to 5 out of 7 public institutions participating in the 'cloud-native transformation project' in 2025.
The cloud-native transformation project promoted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety aims to ensure the stable delivery of digital services to the public and enhance disaster response by transitioning the information systems of public institutions to the cloud-native environments of private cloud service providers (CSP).
Following the supply of cloud infrastructure to 9 out of 17 public institutions last year, NHN Cloud will provide cloud-native infrastructure to the systems of 5 organizations, including the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, Daegu Metropolitan City, the National Geographic Information Institute, and Home Shopping Service, among the 7 institutions undergoing transformation this year.
The systems supplied for this project include ▲ 'National Public Transport Information' (Korea Transportation Safety Authority) ▲ 'Integrated Library' and 'Daegu Integrated Reservation' (Daegu Metropolitan City) ▲ 'National Satellite Information' and 'Crustal Movement Monitoring' (National Geographic Information Institute) ▲ 'Sales System' (Home Shopping Service), among others.
The cloud-native environment is characterized by stability that prevents the spread of individual service failures to the entire system, agility that allows for rapid improvements by separating only necessary functions, and scalability that automatically allocates resources to features under load.
Based on its technology, security, rapid response system, and 1:1 technical support rooted in experience supplying services to numerous public institutions, NHN Cloud is currently executing this project.
Kim Dong-hoon, CEO of NHN Cloud, noted, 'We have achieved overwhelming results in the public cloud-native transformation project that has been underway since last year, solidifying our position as the leading CSP in the public market,' and added, 'We will actively participate in various public projects, including government-led artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives, contributing to the transition and activation of cloud services in Korea.'
