KT announced on the 26th that it will expand its 'Safe Roaming' service, which applies domestic currency charges to overseas calls, from 58 countries to 64 countries in line with the peak travel season.
Safe Roaming is a service that applies the same currency charge (1.98 won per second for voice calls) as in South Korea even when overseas. It automatically applies when a customer visits the target countries without additional application.
KT has added six countries, including Romania, Liechtenstein, Bulgaria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, to the list of Safe Roaming countries. As a result, the number of countries providing the Safe Roaming service has increased to a total of 64. This applies to 96% of all roaming customers.
Additionally, KT announced that it has improved the functionality so that the SIM protection service can be used during overseas roaming starting today.
This service links customer SIM information with device information, blocking the unauthorized use of the SIM in other devices. Previously, this service did not apply during overseas roaming, but it is now available even while roaming.
Customers who joined before the 26th can use the service in a roaming environment by applying separately.
Applications can be made at KT customer centers, KT.com, and nationwide KT agencies.
