NHN announced on the 23rd that it has started recruiting pre-test participants ahead of a complete renewal of the PC web board game "Hangame Baduk & Omok's" game room.
"Hangame Baduk & Omok" is a representative web board game that has continuously operated since its release in 2008, and this renewal marks a complete overhaul after 17 years. Considering the accessibility for older users, a new UI/UX design will be applied, and the Baduk and Omok waiting rooms will be separated to enhance intuitiveness. The renewal is also expected to contribute to future content expansion through improved development efficiency.
Pre-test applications can be made on the "Hangame Baduk & Omok" website, with the test period running from June 10th to 24th. Participants will be able to play actual games in the new game room, and game money and records will reflect the same as the existing service.
NHN will also hold events for testers. Players who play just three games in the new game room will receive 1 million M in game money, and among the users who participate in the play and surveys, five will be randomly selected to receive up to 10 billion M.
Kim Sang-ho, head of NHN's gaming division, said, "Since Baduk has many older users, we prepared a pre-test period to help them adapt to the new game room," adding, "We are preparing a service with intuitive design that enhances user convenience, considering future expansion into board game genres beyond Baduk and Omok."
