LG Uplus announced on the 22nd that it will operate specialized stores for foreign customers in major locations nationwide.
LG Uplus explained that it made this decision as the number of foreign residents in the country has steadily increased each year.
The company will also distribute enrollment-related documents translated into 17 languages. Previously, documents were available only in four languages: Korean, English, Chinese, and Vietnamese, but now it will expand to include Russian, Thai, Burmese, Mongolian, Uzbek, and Lao.
The specialized stores for foreigners will be prepared by sequentially renovating 67 existing stores. These specialized stores will have information and displays for foreigners installed both inside and outside, providing tailored guidance based on the foreign resident ratio and the predominant languages used in each region.
Of the specialized stores, 17 stores with particularly high foreign customer visits are expected to be remodeled into a 'Global Telecom Center' specializing in consultations for foreigners.
To support the specialized stores for foreigners, the number of consultation staff from various countries, including China and Russia, has also increased to about 170.
