Kakao Entertainment announced that it will release the Tving original series 'Shark: The Storm,' based on the globally popular action webtoon 'Shark,' on the 15th.
'Shark,' serialized on Kakao Page since 2016, is a popular action intellectual property with a cumulative view count of 190 million in South Korea, maintaining a top ranking due to its intense righteousness and evil narrative and spectacular fight scenes. It depicts the rapid development of Cha Woo-sol, a victim of school violence, who grows into a fighter after meeting a mentor in a juvenile detention center, and it has also ranked first in the action webtoon category on the Japanese platform Piccoma.
This series, produced following the popularity gained from its film adaptation 'Shark: The Beginning,' corresponds to the content of webtoon season 2, capturing the story of Cha Woo-sol and Hyun Woo-yong, entwined in a 'Karma' after being released from juvenile detention. The series will be available on Tving at 12 p.m. on the 15th.
Meanwhile, to celebrate the series' release, Kakao Page will offer free access to all episodes of the webtoon and various cash events until the 16th, and starting from the 17th, it will provide 3 Damoo (every three hours free) benefits and cash rewards.
On another note, 'Shark: The Storm' is a real survival action piece featuring Cha Woo-sol (Kim Min-seok), who dreams of becoming a mixed martial artist, and the villain Hyun Woo-yong (Lee Hyun-wook), with actors Kim Min-seok, Bae Myung-jin, Lee Jeong-hyun, Park Jin, and Jeong Da-eun participating.
