Kakao Games announced on the 12th that its subsidiary Ocean Drive Studio will transition its game 'Section 13,' which has been available in early access on Steam, to a full release starting May 26.
'Section 13' is a reinterpretation of Ocean Drive Studio's previous work 'Blackout Protocol' in the action-oriented roguelike genre. Coinciding with this transition to a full release after 1 year and 9 months of early access, a new 2-minute trailer was also released.
The released video features the battlefield of 'Section 13,' showcasing battles against unidentified creatures, special ability usage, and various weapon combinations. It includes action elements through not only distance attacks centered on firearms but also various close-combat weapons.
In this game, players assume the role of an agent belonging to 'S2P Corporation,' exploring supernatural events occurring at the quarantined base 13, either solo or in teams of up to two. Players can accumulate permanent growth elements through repeated challenges, and temporary enhancement effects that change with each round, along with individual background stories for agents, are also provided.
Meanwhile, the developer Ocean Drive Studio participated in the game show 'PAX East 2025' held recently in Boston, United States, where they unveiled the latest builds of 'God Save Birmingham,' 'Lost Idolons: Witch of Hypocrisy,' and 'Section 13.'
