On the 12th, ESTsoft announced that its first-quarter revenue was 25.197 billion won, a decrease of 1.9% compared to the same period last year, and the operating loss was 4.372 billion won, an increase of 114.6% from the previous year.
The results for this first quarter achieved revenue similar to the record figures from the same period last year across various businesses including artificial intelligence (AI) software (SW), commerce, portals, and games. Specifically, the growth in the gaming sector was significant, while the asset management, commerce, and portal businesses were relatively sluggish due to market conditions.
Operating profit worsened compared to the same period last year due to increases in overall expenses such as marketing and communication costs for global operations. The company noted that, given the pronounced trend of increasing variable expenses, profit and loss improvements are expected in line with the expansion of new business ventures.
