Kakao Mobility announced on the 8th that it will launch a social media (SNS) campaign to promote the collection of stories for its community service activity 'Heroes on the Road,' organized by the Kakao Mobility Cooperation Foundation.
Since 2022, Kakao Mobility has been operating 'Heroes on the Road' as part of its ESG management, awarding 'heroes' who have practiced good deeds among various mobility industry workers such as taxi drivers, bus drivers, designated drivers, and delivery personnel. Since May of this year, it has been organized and operated by the Kakao Mobility Cooperation Foundation. The Kakao Mobility Cooperation Foundation was established in February to improve the welfare of industry workers and promote mutual growth within the mobility sector. It continues various cooperative activities of Kakao Mobility, including the 'Taxi Driver Medical Expense Relief Support Project.'
This year, Kakao Mobility will conduct an SNS campaign with Instagram artist 'Kikni' until the end of this month to find the protagonists of 'Heroes on the Road' in our communities. Kikni is a popular artist known for drawing stories from applicants through her Instagram segments 'Anything You Want,' and 'We Draw Your Story.' People can submit their stories of good deeds experienced or witnessed to Kakao T and through a link on Kikni's Instagram by May 31, and selected stories will be illustrated as Kikni's Instagram comics and released at the end of June.
Additionally, the plan is to utilize various SNS channels, including regional communities, to make it easier for many people to report cases where mobility industry workers have made a positive impact in the industry and society.
Starting at the end of this month, campaign promotional materials will be placed in various spaces used by mobility workers across the country, including rest shelters for migrant workers in Seoul and Gyeonggi Provinces, highway truck lounges, and offices of individual and corporate taxi associations, to encourage participation in 'Heroes on the Road.'
'Heroes on the Road' can also be reported at any time through the official website, where stories of past winners can also be reviewed. Anyone can recommend candidates for 'Heroes on the Road' who have practiced good deeds without any specific application requirements.
Ha Heon-gu, chairman of the Kakao Mobility Cooperation Foundation, said, 'Heroes on the Road is a project that Kakao Mobility has consistently promoted in order to foster a positive perception of mobility workers, and the Kakao Mobility Cooperation Foundation plans to continue and expand it further.' He added, 'We will continue to expand reporting channels so that the warm stories of hidden heroes on the road can resonate positively throughout society.'
Meanwhile, the Kakao Mobility Cooperation Foundation noted that a total of 29 'Heroes on the Road' have been selected over the past three years since 2022. Last year, the selected individuals included a bus driver who revived an unconscious passenger with CPR and a taxi driver who calmly reported a suspicious passenger by text and contributed to the arrest of a voice phishing collector. The Kakao Mobility Cooperation Foundation plans to hold an award ceremony within the year to present a modest prize and a plaque to the selected Heroes on the Road.
