SOCAR announced on the 22nd that it will conduct a discount promotion on the rental fees for electric vehicles, an eco-friendly mode of transportation, to coincide with Earth Day and Climate Change Week.
This discount will run until the 6th, following the May Golden Holiday, and customers who lend an electric vehicle for over 24 hours in all inland areas except Jeju will receive a 60% discount on the rental fee. Discount coupons can be downloaded until the 30th and will be applicable only to reservations made for returns before midnight on the 6th.
A call service that allows customers to have the vehicle delivered and returned to their desired location for rentals of over 24 hours will also be provided free of charge. Vehicles can be reserved by selecting an electric vehicle through the 'Call Here' feature of the SOCAR app.
SOCAR participates in the Carbon Neutral Practice Point System of the Korea Environmental Industry and Technology Institute, allowing members who lend electric vehicles to receive 100 won per kilometer driven, with a maximum annual refund of 70,000 won. Last year, approximately 15,000 members who used electric vehicles drove a total of 5.65 million kilometers and collected 565 million won in refunds.
A SOCAR official noted, "In celebration of Earth Day, we have arranged this discount promotion so that more members can experience electric vehicles and join in eco-friendly transportation," and added, "We will continue our efforts to expand eco-friendly transportation means and strengthen charging infrastructure to realize ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) values."
