ITCEN Global announced on the 22nd that it is expanding its portfolio to focus on Web 3-based digital asset businesses, moving away from its traditional IT service sector. Web 3 refers to the next-generation internet environment in which individuals can directly own and control their data and assets through blockchain technology.
In recent years, ITCEN Global has focused on building new business models in the fields of security token offerings (STO) and real-world assets (RWA), after engaging in traditional IT service projects such as system integration (SI). STO provides investment opportunities by converting traditional assets such as stocks, bonds, and real estate into blockchain-based digital tokens, while RWA increases the liquidity of real assets, enabling access for more investors.
After acquiring Korea Gold Exchange 3M in 2018, ITCEN Global launched the precious metal fractional investment service "Sengold" and the peer-to-peer gold trading platform "Geumbang Geumbang." In 2022, it established the digital asset specialist corporation "Credder" in collaboration with blockchain technology firm BPMG and is currently operating platforms and services related to STO and RWA.
ITCEN Global is also expanding its business scope by participating in the establishment of the Busan Digital Asset Exchange (BDAN) and the consortium for the specialized internet bank for small businesses, "Soho Bank." Recently, it has joined the Japan Security Token Association (JSTA), thereby accelerating its entry into the global market. JSTA is the agency responsible for digital asset regulations and standards in Japan, and ITCEN Global is uniquely participating as a non-financial technology company in the country.
An official from ITCEN Global noted, "We will strengthen our business centered around Web 3 and digital assets and solidify our foothold in domestic and international markets."
