LG Uplus announced on the 18th that it has launched a 30,000 won exclusive roaming product, 'Asia Roaming Pass', for customers visiting travel destinations in Asia.
The Asia Roaming Pass is a period-type roaming product that can be subscribed to when visiting regions in China, including Japan, Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. LG Uplus noted, "We analyzed the data usage patterns of Asian travelers who primarily prefer short trips of around 3 nights and 4 days, and added a plan that provides 6GB of data for 39,000 won."
Previously, LG Uplus introduced the 'Roaming Pass' to ease the convenience and expense for roaming customers. This plan, launched last April, allows users to access data and currency services for a certain period in 83 countries worldwide. Depending on the provided data capacity, it is composed of four types: ▲ 3GB (29,000 won) ▲ 8GB (44,000 won) ▲ 13GB (59,000 won) ▲ 25GB (79,000 won).
To celebrate the launch of the Asia Roaming Pass, LG Uplus is providing additional benefits useful for overseas travel to its customers. Customers who sign up through the LG Uplus official online mall or mobile app will receive a free 'Flight Delay Compensation Service' that reimburses food and beverage expenses at domestic airports up to 20,000 won when flights are delayed for more than two hours, as well as a 10,000 won worth voucher for the 'iSharing app' that allows real-time location tracking of traveling family and friends.
Customers using the Asia Roaming Pass can use the 'Roaming Pass Sharing' feature to share their roaming data capacity with family or acquaintances in real time for 3,000 won, just like with the existing roaming pass. This feature allows a maximum of five people using U+ mobile lines to share data together.
Roaming pass users will also receive partnership benefits worth 200,000 won including airport services, duty-free shops, and currency exchange, along with additional data benefits. Customers subscribed to domestic 5G plans of 85,000 won or more per month will receive double the data, and those who sign up online will receive an additional 1GB of data.
Until May, the first 10,000 Asia Roaming Pass customers visiting Japan who participate in the event will receive an ice cream exchange voucher that can be used at the local convenience store 'LAWSON.'
Im Hye-kyeong, in charge of rates and partnership products at LG Uplus, said, "In line with the flow of overseas travel resuming in full swing, we planned the Asia Roaming Pass so that customers can conveniently and reasonably use communication services at their preferred travel destinations in Asia. We will continue to discover practical benefit-oriented roaming products that can innovate customer experiences."
