Kakao Entertainment announced on the 15th that it has unveiled four hot new webtoons for April on KakaoPage and KakaoWebtoon.
The webtoon "I Saw a Play" launched on the 1st on KakaoPage has been gaining attention by ranking first in the KakaoPage webtoon romantic fantasy weekly ranking during both the first and second weeks after its launch in April. Based on the web novel of the same name by author unias, which has recorded a cumulative view count of 23 million, the original work also ranked first in the web novel romantic fantasy weekly ranking as of April 5.
Like the original, the webtoon vividly portrays the intelligent aspects and independent narrative of the heroine, showcasing high-level strategy. The artwork, handled by author Song Yi, who received acclaim for beautiful illustrations and delicate emotional depiction in the previous work "Taeyang's Master," expresses the charming atmosphere typical of the romantic fantasy genre through characters, costumes, and backgrounds.
Also unveiled on the 1st on KakaoPage is the nobel comic "I Became the Genius Outcast," adapted from the web novel of the same name. The original work was written by author Yuin, who introduced "Surgeon Elise" that made it to the KakaoPage Million Page list, and it has been a popular piece, recording a cumulative view count of 45 million. The artwork is handled by author Glee, who illustrated the webtoon "Shall We Marry?" presenting a magnificent fantasy illustration.
The KakaoWebtoon "Trainee," set to be released on the 16th, is a new work by author Maru, known for previous hits such as "My Shining World" with 400 million views and "Pinocchio" with 120 million views. In earlier works such as "Should I Not Say It," "Cat Mama," and "Youth Farming Report," the author received acclaim for delicately portraying the growth, love, and concerns of youth. In particular, this time, "Trainee" focuses on the K-pop theme, which has become a genre trend in the webtoon and web novel industry, depicting the friendship of boys overcoming pain and running toward their dreams in an impactful and vivid manner.
The popular martial arts webtoon "Weak Teacher" from KakaoWebtoon will return for Season 4 on the 18th. Written by author Cheolbeom and illustrated by author Wolfen, "Weak Teacher" depicts a seemingly endlessly weak legendary assassin who cultivates talents from various factions in a "martial arts academy" genre, recording approximately 42 million views thanks to its solid narrative and action. The plot, which involves conspiracies that shake the entire martial world, as well as alliances, betrayals, and wars among various characters, offers readers an exciting experience.
