Samsung Electronics announced on the 14th that it has been selected as the supplier of cooling devices for the '2025 energy efficiency improvement project for low-income households' for four consecutive years.
This project, led by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, supports the replacement of high-efficiency heating and cooling appliances for energy-disadvantaged groups vulnerable to climate change.
Samsung Electronics will supply the new 2025 wall-mounted air conditioners to more than 18,000 households selected by local governments across the country in phases.
The new air conditioners from Samsung Electronics are equipped with an energy consumption efficiency rating of 1, reducing electricity expenses and featuring filters that can be cleaned with running water, which lowers the expense of replacing filters.
Through the energy efficiency improvement project for low-income households, Samsung Electronics has supplied high-efficiency air conditioners to over 60,000 households from 2022 to this year.
Ochi O, Vice President of Samsung Electronics Korea, noted, 'It is significant to supply Samsung Electronics' high-efficiency air conditioners to energy-vulnerable households amid intensifying heat waves due to climate change.'
