Nexon announced on the 14th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korean Red Cross to utilize the intellectual property (IP) of ‘Blue Archive’ for social contribution activities related to ‘volunteer work, promoting a healthy culture of donations, and encouraging blood donation.’
This agreement is part of a social contribution campaign designed to convey the values of sharing and life through the subculture game ‘Blue Archive.’ Both companies will jointly implement public interest messages using game content and various online and offline campaigns. In particular, through cooperation in various public interest areas such as encouraging blood donation, they aim to expand social value based on game content and provide users with opportunities to naturally engage in public interest activities through campaigns connected to the characters in the ‘Blue Archive’ universe.
As a pre-campaign, starting from April 21, users who complete blood donation and apply for the event through the official website of the Korean Red Cross Blood Management Center will receive a special postcard featuring illustrations of the ‘Rescue Knights’ and a message of thanks for the first 5,000 users. During the same period, an event will be held that offers various rewards in stages for following the Korean Red Cross Instagram channel. With this pre-campaign, Nexon and the Korean Red Cross plan to sequentially develop various public interest campaigns linked to the game.
Park Jeong-mu, Nexon’s business division head, said, “I am very honored to start a meaningful project that conveys the value of sharing with our teachers (users of ‘Blue Archive’). In the future, we will actively explore various activities that can contribute to social welfare and expand the game’s influence in a positive direction.”
Kim Cheol-soo, chairman of the Korean Red Cross, noted, “This agreement will be a good opportunity to promote the values of blood donation and sharing in a new way. We will strive to ensure that more people can naturally encounter the meaning of blood donation and giving through collaboration with game content.”
