LG Electronics announced on the 9th that it has transformed the AI laundry and drying experience zone, Tromhouse, located in the Geumseong Electric Company Refresh Center, into a space where visitors can experience the company's AI core technology.
Geumseong Electric Company, located in Gyeongdong Market in Dongdaemun District, Seoul, is a space that showcases black-and-white TVs, refrigerators, and washing machines first introduced after the establishment of Geumseong Company in 1958, decorated with a retro concept.
LG Electronics introduces its AI core technology, which applies decades of accumulated expertise in core components such as motors and compressors, to customers who visit Tromhouse.
Upon entering Tromhouse, the AI Direct Drive (DD) motor, directly connected to the wash tub and drum, operates and displays a video of tailored washing. The AI DD motor in LG Electronics' washing machines and dryers senses the weight and material of the laundry to provide customized washing and drying that is the most efficient while minimizing fabric damage.
Visitors can also experience the "LG Trom AI Wash Tower" equipped with AI. The "AI Time Sensing" feature detects the laundry load about 3 seconds after being connected to power, providing estimated washing and drying times for different courses. The "AI Time Guidance" feature predicts drying completion times by learning the customer's usage patterns, becoming more accurate with continued use. The AI Wash Tower also recommends the "AI My Course," learning the washing and drying courses and options frequently used by customers. Customers can check the AI washing and drying report on a display that is 60% larger than before.
LG Electronics has also established a lounge at Geumseong Electric Company for visitors to experience the hygiene care function of its Styler. Visitors can explore the technologies of the LG Styler, including the newly released 2025 model.
The new product features the "Dual TrueSteam" function, which is equipped with two heaters that heat water to finely control the amount of steam. This allows it to eliminate 99.99% of harmful bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, as well as 11 types of viruses, including influenza, and to remove dust mites and bedbugs, ensuring hygienic management of clothes worn daily.
The built-in high-pressure steamer also features enhanced convenience. It reduces the preheating time of the steamer to 3 minutes, down 30 seconds from before, and includes a "sliding stand" that allows users to set down the steamer when changing clothes or flipping garments.
Jeong Kwang-woo, head of living solution marketing at LG Electronics, noted, "It is a space where customers can see and feel the AI core technology," and added, "We will continue to offer various activities for customers to experience the convenience of LG Electronics' AI appliances."
