SK shieldus announced on the 8th that it will expand its artificial intelligence (AI)-based home security service 'Caps Home' support project nationwide.
The Caps Home support project is a social contribution activity where SK shieldus collaborates with local governments to enhance residential safety for vulnerable groups. It offers home security services such as entrance AI CCTV, 24-hour emergency response, and SOS emergency buttons free of charge, focusing on households in need of social protection, including single-person households, single-parent families, and victims of crime.
SK shieldus is currently expanding its business by strengthening its collaboration network with local governments throughout the country, including the capital region, Chungcheong, Gyeongbuk, Honam, Gyeongnam, and Yeongnam. By 2024, it has provided Caps Home support to over 5,100 households, which represents an increase of about 243% compared to 2021.
Caps Home utilizes AI facial recognition technology to distinguish between family members and unfamiliar visitors, providing real-time alerts when suspicious behavior is detected. Users can check the situation in front of their home anytime and anywhere through the application, and in case of an emergency, they can request immediate assistance via the app or the SOS button.
An official from SK shieldus noted, "Caps Home provides not only simple security but also significant crime prevention and psychological reassurance," adding, "This year, we will continue to expand our collaboration with local governments to strengthen community safety networks."
