The Korea Electronics and Telecommunications Industry Association (KEA) announced on the 7th that it has appointed Park Jae-young, former Inspector General of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, as the new executive vice president.
Born in 1968, Park, the new vice president, graduated from Yonsei University with a degree in business administration and obtained a master's degree in public administration from Seoul National University. He entered public service through the 38th civil service examination and has served as Inspector General, Manufacturing Industry Policy Director, and Director General of the National Climate Environment Conference at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
Park, the new vice president, has been recognized for establishing development strategies to enhance the competitiveness of key industries such as energy, system semiconductors, future vehicles, and bio-health, as well as playing a pivotal role in creating a favorable environment for corporations.
Park noted, "As the executive head of KEA, the representative organization of the electronics and IT industries, I will promote the AI transformation in core areas and actively participate in improving regulations and systems in a rapidly changing trade environment characterized by heightened U.S. first policies due to Trump and the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technology."
