SK C&C announced on the 3rd that it has commenced work on the establishment and operation of a digital IT disaster recovery center for Hyundai Department Store Group.

This project is being jointly promoted with Hyundai Futurenet, an ICT specialist company of Hyundai Department Store Group, aiming to protect digital assets from natural disasters and various accidents, ensuring service continuity 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

SK C&C will design and build the disaster recovery center based on its 'SKPE-DRS (SK Product Engineering - Disaster Recovery System)' methodology. A systematic design will be carried out step by step, from infrastructure environment analysis to data synchronization and recovery system enhancement.

In particular, it will implement optimized data synchronization for all technical elements, including applications, databases, servers, and storage, maintaining real-time synchronization between the main center and disaster recovery center using Site Recovery Manager (SRM) and Oracle Data Guard solutions.

Real-time change detection and resynchronization functions will also be applied to prevent data loss, and the database integrated monitoring system will continuously monitor for failure situations and ensure data integrity.

In the event of a failure, a cloud-based automation system will operate based on an active-standby environment, preventing human errors through automated execution of recovery steps and supporting rapid recovery.

An infrastructure equivalent to that of the main data center of Hyundai Department Store Group will be implemented at the disaster recovery center, and ongoing hardware expansion and security enhancements will be carried out during the operation process.

Kim Seok-hoon, head of IT business at Hyundai Futurenet, noted, 'The construction of this disaster recovery center will serve as an important stepping stone to further enhance the digital stability of Hyundai Department Store Group,' and added, 'We will continue to build greater customer trust.'

Kim Yong-shin, head of the Cloud business division at SK C&C, stated, 'This project is an important initiative to support the expansion and stability of Hyundai Department Store Group's digital IT infrastructure,' and said, 'We will do our best to establish ourselves as the country's leading comprehensive lifestyle and culture company.'
