KRAFTON announced on the 3rd that its survival life simulation PC game 'Dinkum' will participate in the Steam free weekend event.
The Steam free weekend event is an occasion where users can experience a selection of paid games available on the global game distribution platform Steam for free over the weekend. During the event period, anyone can freely enjoy the selected games at no cost.
Dinkum will be available for free from 2 a.m. on the 4th to 2 a.m. on the 8th, Korean time, for a total of four days. Users who want to continue enjoying the game after the free trial period can purchase it at a 20% discount during the event. Additionally, during the event period, well-known streamers from regions including Korea, North America, Japan, and China will conduct live broadcasts of Dinkum gameplay, interacting with viewers.
Dinkum is a game developed by Australian solo developer James Bendon, which was released on Steam in early access in July 2022, and has been operated globally by KRAFTON since February. Users create their villages through various activities such as gathering, hunting, mining, fishing, and building on an island set against the backdrop of Australia's vast nature. Users can decorate the island's environment and construct buildings that reflect their own personality. They can also enjoy the fun of operating a small community by forming relationships and cooperating with the island's inhabitants, as well as experiencing a deeper gameplay interaction with various NPCs in the game.
Dinkum surpassed cumulative sales of 1 million copies during the early access phase. It has maintained a 'very positive' user rating and gained significant popularity worldwide.
