KT announced on the 2nd that it will expand the 'Family Connection Even When Living Separately' program so that single-person households can enjoy more benefits.
This reorganization focuses on wireless benefits, with the introduction of fixed-rate discounts for mobile plans, an expansion of the number of mobile connection lines to 10, and the application of wireless connection for the 'Single Internet Basic' plan being key elements.
In March, KT had previously expanded internet and TV connection lines for households separating to up to 5 lines and strengthened discount benefits, and this reorganization has completed a customized product lineup for single-person households that encompasses both wired and wireless services.
Previously, the products available for single-person households to receive connection discount benefits were limited, but now more customers will be able to enjoy these discounts thanks to this reorganization.
The newly introduced fixed-rate discount applies 3,000 won, 5,000 won, and 7,000 won (including value-added taxes) based on the mobile plan price segments (37,000 won, 61,000 won, and 77,000 won per month). If using the 61,000 won plan, a monthly discount of 5,000 won will apply, resulting in a total benefit of 120,000 won over 24 months.
Reflecting the trend of increasing single-person households and the positive response from customers when the number of wireless lines was expanded to 7 last June, this reorganization has increased the maximum number of lines that can be bundled to 10. Additionally, the 'Single Internet Basic' product has also been enhanced to include mobile connection benefits, allowing for a monthly discount of 5,500 won on internet fees in addition to the mobile connection discount.
This reorganization allows for enhanced customer benefits even when households are separated, increasing economic efficiency. As a result, it is expected to become an optimized product for single-person households that pursue practical consumption.
Kwon Hee-geun, Deputy Minister of KT’s Marketing Innovation Headquarters, said, "By reflecting the communication usage patterns and demands of the increasing number of single-person households, we have improved the bundled product structure and provided additional discount benefits," adding, "We will continue to strengthen customer-centric products and services to provide practical cost-saving effects on communication fees."
