Google Cloud announced on the 1st that NCV GAMES launched NCSOFT's flagship MMORPG Lineage2M in Southeast Asia and will operate the service based on Google Cloud.

NCV GAMES is a joint venture established in August last year by NCSOFT and the Vietnamese IT corporation VNG, and it is gaining attention as a case where a domestic game company set up a corporation in the local market to target Southeast Asia. With the launch of Lineage2M in Southeast Asia, the service will begin in six countries: Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore.

Google Cloud provides optimized game servers so that Lineage2M users can experience the same gameplay environment in real time anywhere across Southeast Asia, based on its global network infrastructure. Additionally, it implements a smooth gameplay environment by stably storing and managing game data with a large-scale scalable databases.

The two companies are strengthening collaboration to utilize generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology in game development and services. Through Google Cloud's Vertex AI, they aim to enhance content and code generation efficiency, and improve user experience through community analysis. Furthermore, they plan to introduce a new customer experience by building AI agents that support representatives and players based on contact center AI (CCAI).

Meanwhile, NCV GAMES held a showcase in Bangkok, Thailand, on March 29, ahead of the launch of Lineage2M in Southeast Asia. At the event, Baek Jung-yong, CEO of NCV GAMES, presented the game's strategy and vision, while Park Min-jae, sales representative for Google Cloud's institutional sector, introduced partnership and generative AI collaboration plans.

Jigi-seong, CEO of Google Cloud Korea, said, "Generative AI is leading significant changes in game development and play experience," and noted, "Starting with Lineage2M, we will support more NCSOFT games to expand into the global market."
