The Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) announced on the 1st that it has appointed Professor Lee Sang-kyu of Chung-Ang University as the 15th director.
The Economic and Social Research Council (NRC) under the Prime Minister's Office held its 372nd board meeting on March 27 to decide to appoint Professor Lee Sang-kyu of Chung-Ang University as the 15th KISDI director. The term is three years starting from that day.
The new director has previously served as a research fellow at KISDI, the head of the Economic Research Institute at Chung-Ang University, an auditor of the Korea Information Society Association, and a non-executive director of the Korea Asset Management Corporation.
In his inauguration speech, the new director noted, "We must thoroughly prepare for the transition from digitalization to artificial intelligence (AI)," and added, "The Research Institute should actively utilize the various data and experiences accumulated thus far to lead the future." He also stated, "Internally, we will work on attracting and cultivating excellent talent to enhance our research capabilities and create a conducive research and working environment for employees, while expanding communication between the public and private sectors and promoting collaborative research."
