The Ministry of Science and ICT announced that as of 1 p.m. on the 31st, the recovery rate of communication facilities damaged by wildfires in the Yeongnam region has reached 94.0%. A total of 2,900 mobile base stations from three telecommunications companies were affected, of which 2,727 have been restored.
The recovery rate for wired communications stands at 98.5%, while the recovery rate for paid broadcasting is at 98.8%, approaching normalization. The Ministry of Science and ICT noted that on the 27th, the disaster alert for broadcasting and telecommunications was raised from 'caution' to 'alert,' but had been lowered back to 'caution' as of 6 p.m. on the 30th.
The Ministry of Science and ICT plans to continue its support for wildfire victims and the recovery efforts for broadcasting and telecommunications damage.
