SOCAR announced on the 31st that it will collaborate with Hyundai GLOVIS for the growth of the used car platform and the efficiency of the transportation service.

SOCAR and Hyundai GLOVIS will enhance operational efficiency by combining SOCAR's transportation platform, Handler, with Hyundai GLOVIS's non-face-to-face car-selling service on the used car platform, Autobell. Handler is a transportation platform responsible for the movement of over 25,000 SOCAR vehicles nationwide.

Through this collaboration, Handler will take charge of inspecting and moving the vehicles sold on Autobell. When customers register vehicle information online and receive a quote, the vehicle information, movement route, time, compensation, and other mission details will be logged in the Handler app. Handler will inspect the vehicles according to schedule and move them to the auction house.

The two companies have previously operated Handler in some remote areas through proof of concept (PoC), and based on satisfaction and stability, they have expanded the service area to Gyeongsangnam-do, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Jeollabuk-do since the 18th. They plan to further expand to Incheon and Gyeonggi-do within the first half of the year.

Namgoong Ho, SOCAR's Chief Business Officer, noted, "This collaboration presents a good opportunity to discover new logistics innovation possibilities by combining a nationwide car-sharing service operating infrastructure with a used car platform," adding, "We will strive to maximize the efficiency of the used car transaction platform and, furthermore, bring innovation to the overall transportation industry based on the wide scalability and technological capabilities of Handler."

Ki Jeong-seong, Executive Vice President of Hyundai GLOVIS, stated, "This collaboration will demonstrate the synergy of SOCAR's IT-based transportation platform, Handler, and the Autobell platform, setting a new standard for used car transactions," and added, "The cooperation between the two companies is expected to serve as an important stepping stone to realize consumer-centered innovations through the digitalization of used car transactions and the improvement of service quality."
