KT announced on the 30th that it held the 'KT Digital Talent Scholarship Connecting Day' event on the 28th at the KT Gwanghwamun Building in Jongno-gu, Seoul, for the university students selected as KT Digital Talent Scholars, featuring programs aimed at boosting pride and enhancing camaraderie among the scholars.
The event included the presentation of scholarship certificates, a team-building program, sharing of operational directions, and a discussion session. In particular, during the discussion session, the scholars shared their concerns about the future and their efforts to address them, and had time to convey their expectations to KT.
KT plans to provide various follow-up programs such as advanced education related to artificial intelligence (AI), team projects with KT employees, and mentoring so that the scholars can grow into talents leading future technological innovations based on AI.
Meanwhile, KT conducted the selection process from the 2nd to the 19th of last month and selected a total of 40 university students as scholarship beneficiaries. The scholars will receive full tuition support for up to four semesters.
Oh Tae-seong, the head of KT's Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) management promotion office, noted, 'Investment in future generations and technology is a key driver of our sustainable innovation,' and added, 'We will continue to provide practical support, such as mentoring with our employees, so that KT Digital Talent Scholars can grow into AI talents leading the future of South Korea.'
