Devsisters announced on the 28th that it has conducted an update including new cookies, pets, and episodes to celebrate the 12th anniversary of the mobile running game 'Cookie Run Classic' (formerly Cookie Run for Kakao).
In this update, a new character named 'Mellow Bunny Cookie,' featuring a curious travel guide concept, has been introduced. This cookie can rush through a rabbit hole portal at set intervals, allowing the collection of coins and jelly depending on the portal. When entering a giant portal, multi-jumps and gravity effects are applied, enabling a different gameplay experience. Mellow Bunny Cookie can be obtained by collecting marshmallow eggs.
The companion pet 'Mellow Egg Bunny' moves forward at regular intervals, breaking obstacles and generating egg jelly and life jelly. This pet can be obtained through friend invitation rewards.
A new special episode titled 'Journey through the Unknown Rabbit Hole' has also opened. Mellow Bunny Cookie can enter through the rabbit hole portal that it creates, enabling score competitions set against the backdrop of a mystical marshmallow hill and a starlight marshmallow hill. Players can collect relic fragments exclusive to this episode to earn various rewards.
The episode has introduced a new forked path system. At the end of each stage, players can choose one of two portals, altering the next stage, which adds strategic fun through changing routes in each play.
To celebrate the 12th anniversary, various rewards have also been provided. All users logging in by April 26 will receive 1,200 crystals, 120,000 coins, and a treasure titled '12th Anniversary Commemorative Frame.' In addition, various events, such as the '12th Anniversary Special Squirrel Shop' and 'Collecting Marshmallow Eggs,' will be held.
Meanwhile, Devsisters will release a collaboration song titled 'DADA' with AKMU (Akdong Musician) at 6 p.m. on March 30. This song contains a supportive message for the users who have shared the 12-year journey of Cookie Run.
