ITCEN signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with SK Telecom to collaborate on artificial intelligence (AI) business and announced on the 27th that they will jointly pursue GPU as a Service (GPUaaS) and AI cloud manager services.

The two companies aim to support corporations and public institutions in efficiently adopting AI technology through this agreement and seek to expand their presence in the cloud-based AI infrastructure market. They also proposed the creation of a generative AI ecosystem that considers data sovereignty as a collaborative direction.

GPUaaS is a service that provides high-performance GPU (graphic processing unit) infrastructure in the form of cloud, allowing corporations to flexibly utilize resources for AI and machine learning (ML) workloads. ITCEN plans to cooperate with SK Telecom in its GPUaaS efforts to support the establishment of infrastructure optimized for clients' AI workloads and improve expense efficiency.

They also plan to provide cloud-based services that enhance productivity and efficiency in the AI model training and operation processes while lowering initial investment expenses.

The two companies plan to promote joint projects to expand GPU-based AI infrastructure and invigorate the market, continuously developing AI-based infrastructure and service ecosystems tailored to industrial customers.

Kang Jin-mo, chairman of ITCEN, noted, "We will continue to expand AI business collaboration based on SK Telecom's AI infrastructure capabilities and ITCEN's experience in operating cloud-native architecture."

Ha Min-yong, vice president of SK Telecom, stated, "We expect to expand the influence of GPU-based AI infrastructure in public, finance, and cloud sectors through this collaboration."
