Com2uS officially announced on the 26th the launch of its new game 'Professional Baseball RISING' in Japan.
'Professional Baseball RISING' is a real baseball game developed based on the Japan Professional Baseball Organization (Nippon Professional Baseball, NPB). Com2uS signed an official contract with the NPB through its Japanese corporation, Com2uS Japan, in 2022 to secure an official license.
This new title aims to be the number one game in Japanese professional baseball and plans to strengthen its position as a global baseball game leader by expanding its portfolio to include the KBO League and MLB, as well as NPB.
The game has implemented top-level graphics based on face scans and motion capture of active players from 12 teams in the Central League and Pacific League. The game also includes presentations reminiscent of real baseball games and content tailored for Japanese users.
Various content, such as the single-play focused 'League Mode', real-time manual operation 'Real-Time Battle', and 'Ranking Challenge' where players manage their own teams in a simulation style, will be available at launch. In particular, realism will be maximized through updates that reflect actual player statistics every two weeks.
The official model is Hideki Kuriyama, who led the 2023 WBC Japan national baseball team to victory. Kuriyama is a former manager with experience in winning the Japan Series and is a sports commentator and university professor, well-known among Japanese baseball fans.
To celebrate the launch, TV commercials have been airing across Japan since March 18, and advertisements in the home stadiums of 12 teams, including Tokyo Dome and Fukuoka PayPay Dome, are being gradually unveiled. There are also plans for a collaboration campaign with DAZN, the number one OTT (Over-the-top media service) platform for baseball broadcasts in Japan.
Hong Ji-woong, head of production at Com2uS, said, 'Com2uS has successfully provided a variety of baseball games for over 20 years.' He added, 'We will make 'Professional Baseball RISING' the best game loved by Japanese baseball fans through the latest graphics, realism, and locally optimized operations.'
