Samsung noted on the 26th that it has decided to provide 3 billion won to comfort residents in the Gyeongbuk and Gyeongnam regions suffering from recent large-scale wildfires and to assist with recovery efforts.

Eight affiliated companies participated in this donation, including Samsung Electronics, Samsung Display, Samsung SDI, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Samsung SDS, Samsung Life Insurance, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, and Samsung C&T.

The donation is set to be delivered through the Korean Red Cross and will be used for recovery efforts in special disaster areas, including Sancheong and Hadong in Gyeongnam, Uiseong in Gyeongbuk, and Ulju in Ulsan.

Samsung also plans to provide 1,000 disaster relief kits consisting of daily necessities and 600 residential tents for those living in temporary shelters.

Samsung has participated in social efforts to overcome crises whenever large-scale natural disasters occur both domestically and internationally, having previously donated 3 billion won and provided emergency relief kits during wildfires and heavy rains in 2022 and 2023.

Earlier this year, during the large wildfire in Los Angeles, the company donated electronic products worth about $1 million, including appliances, tablets, and PCs, and it also provided a total of $3 million in emergency support during the 2023 earthquake in Turkey.
