The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 26th that it implemented disaster roaming measures using KT lines due to the suspension of SK Telecom mobile communication services in the Uljin-gun area since the night before. The service was disrupted throughout Uljin-gun starting at 10:27 p.m. on the 25th, and while the exact cause requires investigation, it is presumed that fire spread to SK Telecom's communication lines.
SK Telecom restored services at 12:28 a.m. on the 26th using nearby lines not affected by the wildfire, approximately two hours after communications were interrupted.
As the damage to broadcasting and communication facilities spread due to simultaneous wildfires, the Ministry of Science and ICT raised the disaster alert for broadcasting and communication to the 'caution' level and activated an emergency response system to support restoration efforts.
Kang Do-hyun, the second vice minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT, visited Andong City to inspect the damage and restoration status of communication networks and to confirm the operation status of the national crisis management system and satellite relay vehicles necessary for wildfire response.
