KT announced on the 26th that it will accelerate collaboration in artificial intelligence transformation (AX) in the domestic industrial sector through a meeting between CEO Kim Young-seob and Microsoft Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chairman Satya Nadella, who is visiting Korea.
According to KT, CEO Kim discussed enhancing AI competitiveness with Chairman Nadella, who visited Korea the previous day to attend the 'MS AI Tour,' at KT's Gwanghwamun headquarters. Attendees included POSCO Group Chairman Jang In-hwa, Korea Development Bank Chairman Kang Seok-hoon, Shinhan Financial Group Chairman Jin Ok-dong, Hyundai Motor Group Vice Chairman Chung Ki-sun, EBS President Kim Yoo-yeol, and Hyundai Motor Group CEO Song Chang-hyun, who participated in the 'AX Leader Summit.'
Participants exchanged opinions on ways to create synergy in the AI and cloud sectors through collaboration with other industries. KT introduced overseas corporate cases utilizing big tech solutions like Microsoft and presented application plans tailored to the domestic environment.
KT stated that it plans to periodically hold the AX Leader Summit aimed at expanding the domestic AX ecosystem. KT and Microsoft revealed collaborations in AI education to help strengthen national AI competitiveness beyond the development of their partnership.
Chairman Nadella explained during a keynote speech at the AI Tour held at the Yangjae aT Center in Seocho District, Seoul, that they will promote a nationwide 'AI Skilling Initiative' with KT. KT noted that the initiative aims to contribute to the improvement of 'AI literacy' levels by providing education to citizens interested in AI.
KT and Microsoft plan to collaborate on establishing an 'AI Education Center' and developing specialized teaching materials. CEO Kim said, 'The development of AX solutions, based on strategic partnerships with Microsoft, such as Korean-style AI and KT Secure Public Cloud, is becoming visible, and we will continue to deepen our collaboration moving forward.'
