Kakao Mobility announced on the 26th that it confirmed usability improvements by applying Google's artificial intelligence (AI) service 'Gemini Flash' to its integrated transport (MaaS) service application 'Kakao T'.

According to Kakao Mobility, after launching the 'AI address auto-fill' feature in 'Kakao T Quick·Delivery' based on Gemini Flash on Feb. 20, the usability improvement was confirmed over the following month. The AI address auto-fill allows users to copy long sentences containing addresses, recipients, and contact information from messages, and when they bring up the Kakao T Quick·Delivery service screen, the AI recognizes and automatically inputs only the necessary information.

By implementing a 'parsing' process that analyzes the components of data within texts mixed with necessary and unnecessary information through AI, the convenience of using the service has significantly improved compared to the previous method of either partial copying from text or manual input.

According to actual service usage data, the time taken for new users to apply for the Kakao T Quick·Delivery service was significantly reduced. From the 24th of last month to the 20th of this month, among Kakao T users who tried the quick service for the first time, those who used the AI address auto-fill feature completed the application about 24% faster on average than those who did not. Since the initial address input step is the biggest hurdle for new users utilizing the quick service for the first time, it can be seen that entering quick addresses and completing applications have become significantly easier for new users.

As a result of usability improvements, more users completed applications after entering the quick·delivery order stage during the same period. The completion rate for new users of the quick·delivery service who utilized the AI address auto-fill feature was 13.39 percentage points higher than that of new users who did not.

Kakao Mobility aims to continuously enhance the convenience of Kakao T Quick·Delivery through Gemini, increasing user accessibility. Kakao T Quick·Delivery has established a user-friendly environment distinct from traditional phone-based quick services by offering various platform-exclusive features such as item pickup, estimated arrival time notifications, and in-app usage history checks.

Lee Jin-won, Head of Team at Kakao Mobility's last mile business team, noted, 'I expect that the accessibility of the Kakao T Quick·Delivery service will further improve through Gemini,' and added, 'We plan to establish partnerships with excellent AI services for user convenience improvements and expand our capabilities.'
