Microsoft (MS) has decided to equip its generative artificial intelligence (AI) service "Microsoft 365 Copilot" (hereinafter referred to as Copilot) with an AI agent capable of inference. Copilot will serve as a "user interface (UI)" for AI.

Satya Nadella, MS chief executive officer (CEO) and chairman of the board, noted on the 26th at the "Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tour in Seoul" event held at aT Center in Yangjae-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, that Copilot supports users in efficiently performing tasks such as document creation, data analysis, and meeting management in Office 365 and Teams (collaboration and communication platform).

At this event, MS unveiled for the first time globally two AI agents (Researcher and Analyst) that incorporate inference models into its Copilot. The Researcher supports customer research and market strategy analysis, while the Analyst assists with demand forecasting and consumer pattern analysis.

CEO Nadella said, "By combining an inference agent capable of search and analysis with Copilot, we support deep research functions, enabling individuals to possess capabilities at the level of data scientists."

CEO Nadella said, "AI is rapidly changing the daily lives and work styles of people in Korea," adding, "It is truly wonderful to see corporations in various industries in Korea, including consumer goods, energy, retail, and telecommunications, actively adopting AI to create new growth and opportunities."

The AI Tour in Seoul is an annual event conducted by MS to explain its new AI business and meet with partners, traveling through 60 cities worldwide. However, CEO Nadella only visited Mexico, Germany, and Brazil last year, and the only countries visited this year are India and Korea.
