The funeral parlor for the late Lee Jong-hee, Vice Chairman of Samsung Electronics, has been filled with mourners for the second day at the Samsung Medical Center in Gangnam, Seoul.

On the 26th, notable figures including Noh Tae-moon, head of Samsung Electronics' MX division (president), Yong Seok-woo, head of Samsung Electronics' VD division (president), Park Yong-in, head of Samsung Electronics' System LSI division (president), Kwon Bong-seok, vice chairman of LG Corporation, Jang In-hwa, chairman of POSCO, Ham Young-joo, chairman of Hana Financial Group, and former Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum visited the funeral parlor. They expressed their condolences while unable to hide their sorrow.

Around 9:15 a.m., President Yong was the first to arrive at the funeral parlor. Following him were Go Han-seung, head of Samsung Electronics' Future Business Planning Division (president), Lim Sung-taek, vice president of Samsung Electronics Korea, and President Park Yong-in, who visited the funeral parlor in turn. At around 11:41 a.m., President Noh, who visited the funeral parlor, noted, “I cannot hold back my grief,” and said, “Today, I will focus on condolences and taking care of the bereaved family.” President Noh is reported to have stayed at the funeral parlor again after visiting the previous day.

In addition to current and former executives of Samsung Electronics, Jang In-hwa, chairman of POSCO, Kwon Bong-seok, vice chairman of LG Corporation, Ham Young-joo, chairman of Hana Financial Group, and former Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum also visited the funeral parlor to pay their respects. Former Prime Minister Kim stated, “(Vice Chairman Han) was a key figure in revitalizing the Korean industry and personally, I met him several times through various connections during his active years,” and added, “I have felt sadness at his passing.” Vice Chairman Kwon remarked, “The deceased contributed selflessly not only to Samsung Electronics but also to the development of the South Korean electronics industry,” and expressed, “It is an unimaginable event. I pray for the soul of the deceased.”

Earlier, on the 25th, Executive Vice Chairman Jeong Hyun-ho, Han Jin-man, head of Samsung Electronics' Foundry Division (president), Song Jae-hyeok, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Samsung Electronics' Semiconductor Division, Choi Ji-sung, former executive vice chairman of Samsung Electronics, and other current and former executives from Samsung visited the funeral parlor. In addition, figures from the political and business sectors, including Jo Joo-wan, president of LG Electronics, and Ko Dong-jin, a member of the National Assembly from the People Power Party, also paid their respects at the funeral parlor.
