The price of NAND flash memory is expected to stabilize from the second quarter. In the meantime, NAND prices have continued to decline due to weakening demand in the Chonbang industry.
On the 26th, market research firm TrendForce noted that the average selling price (ASP) of NAND fell by 15-20% in the first quarter compared to the previous quarter, but is expected to rise by up to 5% in the second quarter.
Due to production cuts by major suppliers, the prices of consumer solid-state drives (SSDs) are expected to increase by 3-8%. For enterprise SSDs (eSSD), steady demand is forecasted to result in no price changes or a slight increase.
Prices for embedded multimedia cards (eMMC) and universal flash storage (UFS) are expected to remain stable, while prices for 3D NAND wafers are projected to rise by 10-15%.
TrendForce said, "In anticipation of potential increases in U.S. tariffs, appliance manufacturers have increased production, leading to rising demand," and added, "With the effects of production cuts and inventory rebuilds, NAND prices are expected to begin recovering from the second quarter."
