Naver Webtoon will release the webtoon 'Kim Young-ha Short Stories,' based on Kim Young-ha's short stories 'The Origin of Life' and 'A Christmas Carol,' on the 25th at 10 p.m.
The two works are included in the author's short story collections 'Only Two People' and 'Oppa Has Returned.'
The webtoon 'Kim Young-ha Short Stories' involved Naver Webtoon in the entire production process from the planning stage, including story composition, character creation, and dialogue. It restructured the novel into a short-format webtoon and added narratives of characters not present in the original work. The artwork and direction were handled by the rookie webtoon artist 'Si.'
Lee Jeong-geun, Deputy Minister in charge of Korean webtoons at Naver Webtoon, noted, 'I have high expectations for presenting the works of Kim Young-ha, who has secured a broad fan base through artistic quality and fun, as a webtoon.'
He added, 'Through new attempts, we will allow webtoon readers to enjoy a wider variety of works and provide original fans with new pleasures.'
Naver Webtoon is currently preparing webtoons based on Kim Young-ha's novel 'Quiz Show' and Jang Gang-myung's novel 'The New Moon, or How You Remember the World,' along with webtoons utilizing original works from various genres, including movies and dramas.
