Raonsecure, a corporation specialized in information technology (IT) security and authentication platforms, announced on the 24th that it has implemented a digital badge issuance system based on the OmniOne badge at Korea University and opened a dedicated website for digital badges.
Raonsecure has opened the nation's first dedicated website for digital badges at Korea University, allowing students and faculty to conveniently issue and manage digital badges on the school's website.
Korea University issued entrance certificates to approximately 3,400 new students for 2025 using the OmniOne badge. The school plans to apply the digital badge to extracurricular achievement certificates, completion certificates for specialized programs in free major (Vision Quest), Dean’s List scholarships, and various other academic programs, including modular courses in emerging technologies, MD majors, and self-designed majors, thereby enabling students to demonstrate their academic and diverse activity achievements while continuously expanding the application areas.
Unlike other schools, Korea University aims to support the issuance of differentiated badges based on students' detailed individual information such as grades and credits, which can be utilized for record management and job hunting activities. Additionally, it plans to issue excellent badges to students who successfully complete specific educational courses and establish a community space on the website where students can share their badges, thereby enhancing their motivation to learn.
Raonsecure plans to expand its business starting with the issuance of digital badges for Korea University through its OmniOne badge service, eventually leading to the issuance of student identity verification IDs using its blockchain-based integrated platform, OmniOne Digital ID. The student identity verification IDs issued to students can serve as a means for verifying their professional capabilities on external job platforms and by hiring organizations, supporting the broader societal advancement of Korea University's talents.
Raonsecure's OmniOne badge offers secure qualification certification with high reliability using blockchain technology, making it difficult to forge or alter. Provided in a software-as-a-service (SaaS) format, it enables the issuance of digital badges without the need for users to build their own systems. It can be applied for various purposes such as educational qualification verification, awards, licenses, and guarantees, and can be utilized for qualification certification issuance across various organizations, including not only universities but also public institutions and corporations. The service is employed for the issuance of university admission documents, degree certificates, AI private qualifications, e-portfolios, and continues to steadily increase its market share.
Park Jong-moon, head of Raonsecure's service division, noted, "As it becomes known that Raonsecure is capable of issuing digital badges based on the OmniOne badge as well as identity and qualification verification services linked with the OmniOne Digital ID, inquiries and discussions for business adoption from many educational institutions are increasing, leading us to expect significant business growth."
