On the 24th, mobile game company Wemade Play announced through its shareholders' meeting and board of directors that it appointed Woo Sang-jun as its new CEO.

CEO Woo previously served as the general director of NHN Entertainment, and the head of NHN Blackpick before working as the CEO of Metabora from 2022.

Additionally, CEO Woo founded Playlings, a core subsidiary of Wemade Play, in 2015. He is credited with laying the groundwork for Playlings by expanding the Anipang intellectual property (IP) at the time.

Wemade Play described CEO Woo, who has demonstrated capabilities in the rapidly changing information and communication technology (IT) industry for over 20 years, as the right person to lead new growth.

CEO Woo is set to begin official activities that day.

The new CEO Woo noted, "The next era of Wemade Play is to become a leading game development company in the global casual puzzle genre, which has already formed a market of $12.2 billion in 2024."

He added, "We will aim for global market expansion with a clear vision and strategy to present games that fuse understanding of users and technology into global standards."
