Kakao's content CIC operates the portal Daum, which announced on the 21st that it has revamped the 'Daum Sports Baseball Game Center' ahead of the 2025 professional baseball season.
Daum has strengthened various broadcasting services to help users intuitively grasp real-time game situations across all stadiums. The 'graphic broadcast' that shows real-time game situations graphically and the 'field view' that displays stadium conditions have been upgraded to provide real-time scores, runner situations, and more, showcasing a more vibrant broadcast. The scoring text broadcast has also introduced the latest option to ensure that key moments of the game are not missed.
The method of providing game information has been significantly improved to maximize user convenience. Users can view team strengths, pitcher and batter information, and real-time pitcher-batter matchups at a glance. After the game, AI summarizes the results for quick access to game outcomes. Additionally, by linking with the Daum weather service, users can easily check weather conditions for each stadium.
A variety of services, such as 'Be the Legend,' which allows user participation, have also been prepared to add fun. 'Be the Legend,' available in the Daum app, is an event where users can predict hits and earn prizes if successful. On the game day, users choose players from 10 teams they expect to get hits, and if the selected player records a hit in the actual game, it is recognized as a success. Users who successfully predict for 40 consecutive games will share a total prize of 50 million won.
In addition, community services are supported by linking team-specific Daum Cafe 'tables' on the game page, allowing baseball fans to communicate freely. Features such as team support voting and cheering comments, as well as a game-by-game MVP voting function, have been added to enable users to select the best player.
