Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics noted on the 20th that they will participate in the largest home appliance exhibition in China, 'AWE 2025', held in Shanghai from the 20th to the 23rd (local time), showcasing a significant number of artificial intelligence (AI) home appliances.

Samsung Electronics will set up an exhibition space of about 1,512 square meters at the New International Expo Center and will showcase various Bespoke AI appliances and connection scenarios that realize the vision of 'AI for everyone.'

The Bespoke AI appliances provide AI functionality based on Samsung Electronics' security solution 'Knox', the device connection experience provided by 'SmartThings', and the AI voice assistant 'Bixby'.

The Bespoke AI appliances exhibited this time are characterized by being equipped with a 'Bespoke AI Hybrid' refrigerator featuring a 9-inch screen and a washing and drying machine 'Bespoke AI Combo' with a 7-inch screen, enhancing the usability of AI functionalities with screens.

Samsung Electronics also showcased the 'KitchenFit Max' refrigerator for the Chinese market, which is designed with a slim profile of 600 mm in depth to match the average kitchen cabinet size in China, while maximizing capacity at 501 liters.

Hwang Tae-hwan, vice president of Samsung Electronics' DA division, stated, 'Bespoke AI appliances equipped with various AI features and screens provide consumers with a differentiated AI experience,' adding, 'We will continue to expand the AI home experience that adds innovation to consumers' daily lives into the global market.'

LG Electronics will present AI home solutions under the theme 'LG Electronics' empathy intelligence for various lifestyles' in a 1,104-square-meter exhibition hall at this year's AWE. They will offer customized proposals for AI appliances and IoT technologies tailored to the diverse lifestyles of Asian customers and introduce 'AI core tech' that adds AI to core component technology.

LG Electronics implemented AI home solutions at this exhibition. The highlight zone installed at the booth entrance demonstrates how the AI home hub 'LG ThinQ ON' detects customers' speech, actions, and environment through sensors installed throughout the home and interacts with them to control connected appliances and IoT devices. Exhibited are 'ThinQ Up', which enables users to create appliances that fit their needs using the AI home platform LG ThinQ, and 'ThinQ Care' for managing the status of products, such as failures or abnormal signs.

Visitors can see washing machines equipped with AI DD motors that analyze the weight and fabric of laundry to automatically adjust the washing intensity, as well as air conditioners that can analyze the space to set the optimal temperature without the need for the customer to adjust the strength or direction of the wind.

Ryu Jae-cheol, head of LG Electronics' HS Business Division (president), said, 'We will strengthen our position as a global premium home appliance brand by informing Asian customers about LG Electronics' innovative products and technologies.'
