Kakao Entertainment announced on the 19th that it will release the webtoon "Conquering the Earth! Chonnami," featuring the Instagram webtoon character Chonnami, on Kakao Webtoon and Kakao Page on the 25th of next month.
The white cat Chonnami, illustrated by the author Chae-soo, is a popular character that has amassed over 133,000 followers on Instagram. The webtoon "Conquering the Earth! Chonnami" depicts the story of Chonnami, a cat agent, who is dispatched to Earth on a conquest and exploration mission when a sudden destruction crisis hits the planet "Koh Young."
A collaborative project centered around Chonnami is also planned. Merchandise created in collaboration with the professional baseball team Samsung Lions will be produced. On the 22nd, when the opening game takes place, eco-friendly bags featuring Chonnami, created as part of the club's ESG campaign "Green Lapark Campaign," will be given to all attendees at Daegu Samsung Lions Park. An additional giveaway event for about 3,000 people will take place on the 23rd.
A large premium eco-friendly bag featuring Chonnami will be sold at the Lions Team Store, and fans who purchase it will receive a limited edition Chonnami photo card. A portion of the sales revenue will be donated to environmental organizations.
