NEXON GAMES is under police investigation for allegedly leaking an unreleased project as a result of resigning from the company, and the newly established game company DINAMIS ONE has issued its first official statement denying the allegations.
On the 18th, DINAMIS ONE released a statement from CEO Park Byeong-rim, noting that "the company was raided on allegations of leaking trade secrets related to 'MX Blade,' which NEXON GAMES was developing," and added, "As this is an ongoing investigation, it is difficult to clarify specific details, but many aspects of the allegations are untrue."
It added, "We will actively cooperate with the investigation to ensure that the facts are clearly established."
DINAMIS ONE was founded in April of last year by Park Byeong-rim, who served as the producer of the hit subculture game 'Blue Archive' at NEXON GAMES, a development subsidiary of NEXON KOREA, along with key development personnel such as script directors and art directors.
In September of the same year, DINAMIS ONE unveiled its first game, 'Project KV,' but after criticism that the game was too similar to 'Blue Archive,' it announced on the 8th that it would halt development along with an apology.
Earlier, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Industrial Technology Security Investigation Team recorded charges against CEO Park and key employees for violations of the Unfair Competition Prevention Act and raided their office located in Seocho-gu, Seoul, on the 24th of last month.
On the 26th, the same day that reports of the raid on DINAMIS ONE were published, NEXON GAMES stated, "During an internal investigation, we confirmed that some individuals from DINAMIS ONE had maliciously leaked key information about the unreleased new project 'MX BLADE,' which they had been involved in developing for an extended period prior to their resignation, and conspired to utilize it for game development within the newly established company."
