LG Electronics announced on the 18th that it will launch the 'LG Tromm AI Object Collection Wash Tower,' which integrates artificial intelligence (AI) with key component technology such as motors.
LG Electronics applied more sophisticated AI to the new product, making it more convenient to use while reducing fabric damage.
First, the AI Wash Tower recognizes the laundry load approximately 3 seconds after the laundry is loaded while connected to power and provides immediate estimates of washing and drying times by course. It also features an 'AI Time Guidance' function that learns usage patterns, providing more accurate time estimates the more it is used.
Additionally, it not only automatically dispenses detergent and softener by recognizing the laundry load but also analyzes the turbidity of the wash water in real-time to assess the level of contamination and add detergent as needed.
The 'AI DD Motor,' which combines LG Electronics' core component technology with AI, analyzes the fabric type and laundry load to select the most effective drum motion out of six options, ensuring cleaner washes while minimizing fabric damage. It also reduces vibrations during spin cycles and helps prevent laundry from clumping.
The AI DD Motor has enhanced drying performance as well. It improved the shrinkage level by up to 20% during the 'shrinkage reduction course' and abrasion by up to 35% during the 'towel course' compared to existing options. Moreover, by identifying the fabric type and thickness of blankets, it can reduce drying time by up to 39 minutes for thin summer blankets.
The AI Wash Tower can automatically create a 'My Course' by learning the washing and drying courses and options that customers frequently use.
Meanwhile, the new product increased the drying capacity to the largest in the country at 25 kilograms. With matching washing and drying capacities, it is not only more convenient but also capable of handling large laundry items such as winter blankets.
LG Electronics equipped both the washing machine and dryer with the 'TrueSteam' function that boils water up to 100 degrees Celsius to create fine steam particles. This allows harmful bacteria to be eliminated during the washing and drying process while also reducing wrinkles in laundry. A 7-inch display, which is 60% larger than existing models, has been applied.
The retail price of the AI Wash Tower is 4.89 million won, and the monthly subscription fee for a 6-year contract with a care manager visiting every 12 months is 93,900 won.
Kwak Do-young, head of the Living Solutions Division at LG Electronics (vice president), noted, 'We will provide a powerful yet delicate washing and drying experience with the 'AI Wash Tower,' completed with LG Electronics' unique core component technology and more sophisticated AI.'
