On the 17th, Samsung Electronics announced that it will showcase heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems featuring artificial intelligence (AI) at the 'ISH 2025' exhibition, which will be held from the 17th to the 21st in Frankfurt, Germany.

Samsung Electronics will display a variety of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning solutions ranging from residential to commercial in a booth spanning approximately 489 square meters, targeting the European air conditioning market.

It will introduce EHS products such as the high-efficiency heating and cooling system heat pump 'Slim Fit Climate Hub' and 'EHS Mono R290', as well as the new 'Bespoke AI Wind-Free Combo' wall-mounted air conditioner launched earlier this year.

'Slim Fit Climate Hub' is a residential heat pump EHS product equipped with a dedicated 200-liter water tank. It features a slim-fit design with a depth of 600 mm and includes a 7-inch touch screen-based 'AI Home' for enhanced convenience.

'EHS Mono R290' is also a heat pump EHS product that features a high-efficiency heating and cooling system and applies natural refrigerant R290. It can supply high-temperature water up to 75 degrees for heating.

The new 'Bespoke AI Wind-Free Combo' air conditioner has added 'Wind-Free' and 'Comfort Dew' functions. Unlike conventional dehumidification methods that sharply lower the temperature to reduce humidity, it maintains the indoor temperature consistently while dehumidifying, creating a more comfortable environment. It employs technology that finely adjusts the refrigerant based on the humidity in the space, cooling the heat exchanger only as needed to avoid unnecessary cooling and improve efficiency.

Samsung Electronics' exhibition space also features a display corner showcasing the connectivity convenience through the inter-device connection platform 'SmartThings.' It proposes scenarios where Samsung Electronics appliances, in conjunction with SmartThings-connected light bulbs and solar panels, enhance the home's energy efficiency.

Choi Hang-seok, executive director of Samsung Electronics' DA Division, noted, 'Samsung Electronics is expanding its influence in the global air conditioning market based on its unparalleled Wind-Free technology, high-efficiency energy technology, and convenient connectivity. In the future, we will continue to present a variety of products optimized for regional consumer needs and environments.'

LG Electronics has also set up a booth covering 492 square meters at this event, targeting the local air conditioning market with high-efficiency heat pumps optimized for the characteristics of the European region under the slogan 'Pioneer of Innovative Heating.' Europe generally has a low penetration rate for residential air conditioning but a high rate for heating equipment. In northern and central Europe, heating is essential as winter temperatures are low.

A representative residential heat pump from LG Electronics is 'Therma V.' This product uses heat energy obtained from outside air to provide heating, cooling, and hot water through an 'air-source heat pump.' It can reduce carbon emissions compared to conventional boilers that burn fossil fuels for heating, and it applies an energy-efficient inverter scroll compressor developed in-house by LG Electronics.

LG Electronics will also showcase the high-efficiency heat pump 'Therma V Monoblock G' for multi-family dwellings, offering various solutions that can be utilized according to housing types.

For commercial solutions, it will introduce 'Inverter Scroll Chiller' and 'Multi V i' that utilize refrigerant R32, which has a global warming potential (GWP) 30% lower than previous refrigerants. Multi V i helps reduce electricity bills by automatically saving energy when no one is present and adjusting cooling intensity based on the situation.

At the end of last year, LG Electronics established the ES Division to accelerate its faster transition into a global comprehensive air conditioning company. In July, it established an air solutions research institute in Frankfurt, Germany, and in June, it formed a heat pump consortium in Oslo, Norway. Through research on high-efficiency air conditioning solutions reflecting the local climate and housing structures in Europe, it is strengthening its capabilities in the European heating and cooling market.

Lee Jae-sung, vice president of LG Electronics' ES Division, stated, 'By leveraging LG Electronics' differentiated core technology, we will continue to present high-efficiency heating and cooling solutions and accelerate our efforts to target the rapidly growing European HVAC market, which is evolving due to decarbonization and energy transition.'
