The Korea Software Industry Association (KOSA) announced on the 17th the 'K-AI Unicorn Project 10,' aiming to foster 10 artificial intelligence (AI) unicorns to lead the global market.
It also presented 25 tasks in eight fields (AI VISION 25) for Korea's leap to become one of the AI G3 (three major powers).
According to the association, global AI corporations are moving beyond unicorns (unlisted companies valued at over 1 trillion won) toward decacorns (unlisted companies valued at over 10 trillion won). However, there are currently no 'homegrown AI unicorns' in South Korea.
Consequently, KOSA aims to cultivate 10 domestic AI specialized corporations by 2030 and has proposed 25 tasks to achieve this.
'AI VISION 25' is structured into a total of 25 detailed tasks across eight major fields that include ▲ Establishing system and policy foundations for AI services ▲ AI safety, trust, and ethics ▲ Expanding AI literacy ▲ Building AI computing infrastructure ▲ Securing AI data ▲ Cultivating AI talent ▲ Discovering promising AI corporations ▲ Strengthening global AI collaboration.
KOSA plans to strengthen collaboration with AI corporations, centered around its newly established AI industry headquarters this year, and to realize AI VISION 25 through close communication with the government and the National Assembly.
