Samsung Electronics announced on the 16th that over 80 models, including the 2025 Neo QLED, OLED, and The Frame, have received 'Product Carbon Footprint' and 'Product Carbon Reduction' certifications from the German global certification organization TÜV Rheinland.

The Neo QLED 8K and Neo QLED lines of Samsung's premium lineup have obtained carbon reduction certification for five consecutive years, and this year, the certification has been expanded to include the QLED entry-level lineup, increasing the total number of certified models compared to 60 last year.

TÜV Rheinland awards the 'carbon footprint' certification based on an evaluation of greenhouse gas emissions throughout the entire process of manufacturing, transporting, using, and disposing of TV products according to international standards, and provides an additional 'carbon reduction' certification for products that have lower emissions compared to existing models in the same class.

Since obtaining carbon reduction certification in 2021 as the first TV with a resolution of 4K or higher for the Neo QLED, Samsung Electronics has continuously expanded the range of products eligible for certification to include LED, Crystal UHD, lifestyle TVs, OLED, monitors, and signage.

Son Tae-yong, vice president of Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Business, said, 'Samsung Electronics is continuing its challenge toward carbon neutrality for a sustainable future through technological innovation,' and added, 'As the number one corporation in the global TV market, we will actively manage greenhouse gas emissions from manufacturing to disposal and lead the establishment of an eco-friendly ecosystem.'
