
Naver announced on the 14th that it has appointed Kim Hee-cheol as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
On the 14th, Naver noted that "CFO appointee Kim Hee-cheol is a financial expert with extensive experience and expertise in the IT industry, including Naver," adding that "Kim has performed accounting, management, and other duties at Naver while serving as the overall financial coordinator for Team Naver." It further explained that Kim is recognized for his financial management capabilities, shown by high performance in areas such as efficient resource allocation, profit and loss management, and strengthening the accounting control tower function.
The new CFO Kim Hee-cheol graduated from Yonsei University with a degree in Business Administration and joined Naver in 2003, taking on roles in the financial planning office, financial management for the IT and gaming industry, and as a financial management leader. Since 2019, he has been working as the head of the CV Center.
Naver explained that former CFO Kim Nam-sun will serve as Naver's strategic investment representative. He will focus on expanding corporate venture investments for major strategic investments and discovering future growth, while also strengthening management at Forsyte Mark as the executive chair of the Forsyte Mark board based in North America, working to enhance synergies with Naver.
Naver also announced plans to establish a strategic business division to focus more intensively on global strategic projects, including Saudi Arabia. The newly established division will be led by Chae Seon-joo, the representative for external relations and ESG policies, who will also serve as the head of Naver Arabia.
